Lip fillers or injections are a popular type of non-surgical lip augmentation procedure that lets you create volume in your lips and reduce the appearance of marionette lines around your mouth.
It is one of the fastest ways to enhance the pout of your lips. You can also achieve the same results using other popular FDA approved treatments like Juvederm’s Ultra, Volbella, and Restylane Silk, provided they are done by a highly trained and experienced medical provider.
Evolve Healthcare specializes in medical cosmetic treatments including Botox injections, Dermal Fillers, Restylane, and Juvederm for skin rejuvenation, lip augmentation, and more. Treating patients from Woodland Hills, Sherman Oaks, Calabasas, Northridge, and West Valley, CA.

Choosing the Right Lip Filler
Although lip injections are an easy and safe procedure, it is very important that they are performed by a qualified, reputable professional. Dr. Shlifer will customize your lip injection treatment according to your unique needs as follows:
This soft gel HA filler is recommended for adding subtle volume to the lips, treating “smoker’s lines” around the mouth, and defining the lip border. Results last up to one year.
This is a thicker gel that offers more noticeable volume, and is preferred by many younger patients. Results last up to one year.
A soft gel HA that is mostly used to treat perioral lines and add subtle hydration to your lips. The results last 3 to 6 months.
Other lip fillers may be used depending on your unique needs. Please visit Evolve Healthcare in Woodland Hills or Calabasas to learn more about lip fillers and how they can help to boost your confidence.
How Lip Fillers Work
If you are a good candidate for this minimally invasive treatment, Dr. Shlifer will inject a filler material made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) to create fuller lips, smooth marionette lines around your mouth, and treat moderate facial wrinkles.
HA is a naturally occuring substance in the body with the ability to hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. This is why it is found in most skin care products claiming to add volume and help to retain moisture and firmness. Juvederm products, Ultra and Volbella, as well as Restylane Silk are good examples of temporary HA lip fillers.
The amount of HA produced by the body diminishes with time. Fortunately, it is readily accepted when introduced in the body. Topical application of HA products is not very effective because of the high molecular weight of HA, which reduces its ability to penetrate the skin to reach a depth where its effects are more dramatic.
With an injection, however, the filler can bypass the outer layers of the skin and produce visible results in an instant. The effect is not permanent as the filler material breaks down naturally over several months.
Facial fillers can be used to enhance:
The lips - to enhance their fullness
Cheeks - to restore volume
Around the mouth - to eliminate vertical lines at the sides
Other areas - to plump out wrinkles
The HA filler injection will be injected in and around your lips - all areas that need extra plumpness - in a procedure that lasts about one hour. Some numbing is usually necessary to eliminate pain and discomfort.
The results for lip injections are usually instant. But because of the swelling involved, you should wait about 2 weeks to see the final outcome.
